چکیده

Energy demand increment besides the reduction of fossil fuel resources from one side, and climate issues concerning conventional power production methods another side lead humanity to more efficient cleaner methods. One these is polygeneration microgrids based on a renewable energy source. In present study, combined cycle Free Piston Stirling Engine with Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Machine was proposed as new heat recovery option for high-quality thermal an Internal Reforming Solid Oxide Fuel Cell electricity. Then, Double Effect Absorption Chiller exchanger were used recover rest cooling hot water, respectively. After modeling validating all systems, they combined. The results system showed 31.7% (or 40% by including instead its consumption efficiency calculation) total improvement compared standalone Cell. Furthermore, electrical improved 14.1%.

An Investigation on the Effects of Gas Pressure Drop in Heat Exchangers on Dynamics of a Free Piston Stirling Engine

This paper is devoted to study the effects of pressure drop in heat exchangers on the dynamics of a free piston Stirling engine. First, the dynamic equations governing the pistons as well as the gas pressure equations for hot and cold spaces of the engine are extracted. Then, by substituting the obtained pressure equations into the dynamic relationships the final nonlinear dynamic equations gov...

Simulation of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell with External Steam Methane Reforming and Bypass

Fuel flexibility is a significant advantage of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and can be attributed to their high operating temperature. The eligibility of a combined heat and power (CHP) system has been investigated as a new power generation methode, in this study. Natural gas fueled SOFC power systems via methane steam reforming (MSR) yield electrical conversion efficiencies exceeding 50% and...

Dynamic Behavior of a Free-Piston Stirling Engine Driven Heat Pump With Magnetic Coupling

A new low-cost design for a free-piston Stirling engi ne driven heat pump is presented. The new approach uses a linear-acting magnetic coupling to transfer engine power across a hermetic shell. Camp l i ance in the coupling affects the performance and stability of the system, especially with regard to matchin g the engine dynamics to the compressor load. This paper first describes test results ...

A New Sensitivity Study of Thermal Stress Distribution for a Planar Solid Oxide Fuel Cell

Converting chemical energy into electricity is done by an electro-chemical device known as a fuel cell. Thermal stress is caused at high operating temperature between 700 oC to 1000 oC of SOFC. Thermal stress causes gas escape, structure variability, crack initiation, crack propagation, and cease operation of the SOFC before its lifetime. The aim of this study is to presen...

Experimental Investigation of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Stack using Direct Reforming Natural Gas

In this study, a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) stack has been successfully fabricated and tested by using direct natural gas. The main objective of this research was to achieve optimal long-term performance of the SOFC stack without carbon deposition by using low-cost natural gas as a fuel. The stack configuration was improved by a new interconnect design and made of cost-effective raw materials...
